Our History

BrackenChase Owner, David Hanselman, born and raised in Tallahassee, envisioned an organization focused on fulfilling the dreams and expectations of new home buyers and set about putting together the unique team of professionals that have made us what we are today.

With a combined experience of over 100 years, we weathered the economic downturn, in an area, hit hard, where most builders have been forced to close their doors. We believe that with crisis comes innovation, and it has made our company stronger. We have established relationships with many of the most respected local craftsmen to help us deliver a high level of detail, quality and efficiency on every project. Many of our craftsmen, suppliers and employees have been with us for over 20 years.

Giving Back

Community ties are important to all of us at Brackenchase Builders. We have taken part in several community outreach programs over the last 25 years, with organizations such as Keep Tallahassee/Leon County Beautiful, The United Way of the Big Bend, Habitat for Humanity, Big Bend Hospice, to name a few. We have also launched our own outreach projects, for those in need. From providing building assistance for hurricane victims, building wheelchair accessible ramps to building a gazebo for Big Bend Hospice, we are dedicated to giving back.

Bragging Rights

BrackenChase Builders has been honored with several design awards over the course of 25 years. Gold awards for single family homes in the $120-160's, Gold Awards for single family homes in the $235-$290's and Realtors Choice Awards for Single Family Homes in the Parade of Homes, presented by Tallahassee Board of Realtors, are to name a few.
